An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employment Solicitor or Legal Executive to join a well-established regional law firm, with an excellent reputation for the legal services that they provide to their clients. Based predominantly in Sheffield you will join a successful department and advise a range of clients on a variety of Employment Law matters. This is a Full Time role although Part Time hours may also be considered.
You will advise clients on a full range of employment matters and advise both individual and commercial clients;
Meeting and attending to your client, both in person and in the telephone, in order to progress their case;
Representing your client at tribunal appointments and other meetings when necessary;
Drafting all legal documentation required to progress the case and negotiating on your clients behalf;
Working both independently and with your department in order to reach personal and group targets, aims and objectives;
Tracking and managing your client's case on a case management system and following billing procedures when necessary; and
Business developing and marketing the firm and department when possible.
You will ideally have previous experience working as an Employment Solicitor/Legal Executive, advising clients on a range of Employment law matters;
Ideally you will have approximately 4 years+ experience working in this area of law and have an excellent technical knowledge of Employment Law, ideally with experience of advising on a range of employment matters (including but not limited to) employment tribunal cases, grievances, disciplinary proceedings, unfair dismissals and discrimination, maternity/pregnancy discrimination, sexual harassment, settlement agreements and data protection;
You will be able to work in an often busy and time pressured environment;
You will be a professional candidate who is able to offer pragmatic advice to your clients;
You will have excellent commercial awareness skills and be commercial and practical with your advice and be willing to business develop in order to secure further work for the firm;
You will be confident and ideally have good advocacy experience;
You will be able to work independently as well as part of a team;
You will have experience of using a range of IT packages and be able to successful track and manage your client's cases via the in-house case management systems;
You will be committed to your own professional development and will keep up to date with all relevant case law and legislation.
