Finance Manager - Paddock Wood, Kent
£50K - £60k + bonus (private healthcare)
Two jobs can have the same title (in this case, Finance Manager) and a very similar set of responsibilities, but one's for a big corporation and the other is for a small business. In the case of this business, essential to the role is proven experience working within an agile and forward-looking SME, where you have often been involved outside of the core finance responsibilities and enjoy the challenge.
Unlike working within a large corporate, where often silos are created to protect against deviation from core tasks, working for an SME means enjoying being involved in all areas of finance, and having a desire to become the point of contact for all finance and related queries. You will enjoy both the transactional and project-based elements of finance and strive to drive value from the wider context of the business through the provision of business insights and data analysis.
You're the type of person who relishes a challenge and who wants a role that encompasses all areas of finance. You'll be solely responsible for the finance function in its entirety at the office in Paddock Wood, and work closely with the MD who you will be able to bounce ideas off.
You'll have run Finance operations for a smaller organisation before - where you've had the chance to make your own decisions. Beyond the strategic stuff, you'll handle everything from processing invoices, payroll, management accounts, and reporting.
You need to be confident, able to deliver value for the business, with the experience to make sound decisions. Certificates are good, but we appreciate the significance of learning on the job.
If you have previously been involved with implementing cloud-based accounting systems (Xero, Sage, Open accounts etc) from initial proof of concept through to go live, then this will also be an added benefit.
