Health Improvement Practitioner (Smoking Cessation) Band 5

(1 WTE/37.5hrs per week)

Fixed Term for 12 months

Secondments will be considered.

The post holder will be part of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clydes Quit Your Way team and will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of smoking cessation services in settings such as community, maternity, acute and mental health. The post holder will deliver intensive smoking cessation support working across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde providing expertise and advice through structured behavioural support on a one to one, telephone or group basis depending on current COVID restrictions, as well as recommendations for pharmacotherapy such as Nicotine Replacement Therapy or Varenicline. The post holder will also raise awareness of smoking cessation and the referral pathways across a range of NHS staff and community partners. The post holder will have a health related first degree or equivalent professional qualification and have completed the Public Health Scotland National Stop Smoking Adviser online and face to face training programme or equivalent. You should have recent experience in delivering smoking cessation support and knowledge of tobacco issues and health improvement.
