Are you looking for a change? Something new, exciting, in a beautiful location ? Then why not consider a move to the Island of Gigha, on the West Coast of Scotland? If you want to be part of a remote and rural island community where you can deliver truly person-centred care and support, to individuals across the lifespan then this may be the opportunity you have been looking for.
We are currently recruiting (due to impending retirement of our resident nurse) and are looking for additional highly motivated, skilled and passionate part-time staff to develop our services to support the ongoing shift of balance of care to the community.
As a Community nurse based on Gigha you will be part of a small core team of band 6 nurses, and part of the wider team of Community Nursing Team based on the mainland, at Campbeltown Hospital. Work will be clinic and home based, and care will be both scheduled and un-scheduled. Gigha is a non-doctored Island, so there will be an on-call commitment, as well as some weekend working. The Island is closely supported by the GP based at Muasdale Surgery on the mainland, Kintyre, who also provides invaluable support to the Gigha nurses. Kintyre itself is remote and the Health and Social Care Partnership work together closely and effectively. It is preferable the applicant has skills in assessment and managing medical conditions, but support will be given to develop a career pathway which suits both the applicant and the service. We also support pre-registration nursing students.
