We are looking for experienced, dynamic and knowledgeable tutors, in a range of subject areas to tutor as part of the Communitiues, Lifelong Learning & Employability (CLLE) Adult Learning Programme.
Specialised tutors will be expected to deliver a range of both dedicated and embedded Literacy, Numeracy, ESOL & IT activities, learning opportunities and certificated programmes to adults & young people that experience multiple barriers to employment and progression. Tutoring Contracts will typically be for around 2 hours a week although there is the opportunity to deliver more than one course or session.
You would typically be educated to Diploma or Degree level or hold a recognised tutor training qualification such as the ITALL, SALL, CELTA or an equivalent. It is essential that you have experience of both engaging with and tutoring adults either in a Literacy, Numeracy, ESOL, Core Skills or IT group, delivering accredited courses, planning and evaluating learning programmes and good interpersonal skills. Applicants should have experience of working with people with additional learning and support needs plus have awareness of appropriate strategies for dealing with challenging behaviours as many of the people we work with experience multiple barriers to both learning and progression.
In order to deliver Elementary Food Hygiene the post-holder would be expected to be registered with REHIS and affiliated to a REHIS Training Centre.
In order to tutor Mathematics and English the post-holder would be expected to be able to deliver up to National 5 Level.
Knowledge of strategies for coping with dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties plus awareness of employability skills and SQA assessor/verifier qualifications are also desirable.
