The Senior Marketing & Communications Manager is an important role for the London Screen Academy, working closely with all the different functions within school and the wider Trust, to project a powerful and consistent narrative that underpins LSA communications for key stakeholder groups - including parents, prospective students, alumni, funding partner, government, media and the wider industry. As a custodian of the LSA brand, this role is expected to define standards that protect and enhance the reputation of the organisation.Purpose of the Job
To shape, lead and delivery LSA's overall marketing, communications and brand stragegy.
This includes promoting LSA, its core values and its various activities through effective marketing and PR plans, as well as overseeing the messaging and production of a variety of communiations outputs to different stakeholder audiences through all channels. a key part of this role will be to grow our existing social media channels, in particular TikTok and Instagram to engage our key audience - young people.
The successful candidate will be responsible for championing and communicating the organisations EDI strategies in all marketing and comms, both internally and extermally. Principal Accountabilities
- In partnership with the Director of Development, Marketing and Communications, lead on and shape a compelling brand, marketing and communications strategy for LSA
Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to influence and co-create impactful communications plans
Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, and the Admissions department to develop compelling marketing materials to support student recruitment
Oversee the design and production of all communications content, including infographics, reports, videos and other outputs
Ensure delivery of consistent messaging across all comms channels including emails, social media platforms, website, project outputs (inc printed and digital), presentation slides, industry publications.
In partnership with the Director of Development, Marketing & Comms, oversee the PR function at LSA, including both proactive and reactive media relations - and increase the organisation's profile in mainstream media channels
Develop and manage the marketing & communications budget covering spend across all key activities and all channels working with the Finance team to produce accurate monthly forecasts.
Update and manage the LSA's brand guidelines ensuring these are applied consistently across all outputs in all channels.
Create compelling messaging, including engaging copy for external channels including the website and social media, as well as occasionally editing speeches and blogs or articles for Trustees and other senior leaders in the organisation.
Take personal responsibility for the delivery of high quality organisation wide outputs including an annual Impact Report, campaigns and communications initiatives
Manage the relationship with external creative agencies and suppliers, and conduct a review of existing suppliers to ensure high quality and good value derived
Create and maintain good relations with industry and national media to identify and leverage opportunities to protect and promote LSA content & mission when appropriate.
Keep abreast of developments and innovations in marketing and communications sector and channels.
Advise on the internal communications strategy, ensuring alignment with external content.
Liaise with our sister school ELAM, and maximise opportunities to collaborate and amplify common messages across where appropriate

Knowledge, experience and qualifications (minimum requirements for the job)
- Keen attention for industry trends with an eye on best practice communications and campaigning techniques
- Degree or equivalent qualification in relevant field
Strategic leader in communications, PR, media and stakeholder engagement across diverse audiences using multiple platforms
Sound media management and negotiation skills, with robust judgment in how to present information to key external stakeholders
Strong understanding of digital media and extensive experience in using digital platforms
Strong line management experience and leadership qualities, with experience in managing complex stakeholder expectations
Sound strategic thinker
- Experience of commissioning or producing video content.
Knowledge of and interest in the screen industries and education
Experience of working in the charity sector and/or membership organisation
