This unique opportunity is for an experienced Architect to work within the Enterprise Architecture function of HMRC, part of the Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO) Group to lead the Application Architecture team. The ideal candidate will lead a team of application architects in planning the HMRC application landscape, designing, developing and ever-greening Application Architecture directions and governing a portfolio of solution architectures and high-level designs against these directions. We are looking for an Enterprise Architect who is passionate about application architecture and application integration, well experienced in all aspects of application architecture gained through working across a sizeable application landscape with a substantial portfolio of Cloud native and Cloud hosted applications.
The successful candidate will lead a team of Enterprise Architects responsible for working across HMRC, helping the transformation programmes in defining and promoting the digital agenda in line with HMRC Digital by Default strategy and in socialising and evangelising them within the senior stake holder community.
In addition, the role holder will also provide active internal consultancy in application architecture, driving adoption of HMRC's Enterprise Architecture vision, strategies and directions.
A broad IT and Enterprise Architecture (EA) background, with experience in the design and deployment of large, enterprise scale applications.
Develop and own enterprise architecture strategies and application roadmaps from a business and technology perspective, including 'as-is', 'to-be' and transitional states.
Develop, document and establish architectural principles, policies, standards and reference architectures.
Architecture governance and technology decision making aligned to enterprise architecture directions.
Cloud based application development and deployment including development and implementation of Cloud transformation strategies.
The candidate is expected to have considerable technical skills in some of the following areas:-
Application development on Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Pega, SAP etc..
Application Lifecycle management, standards & tools.
Documents and Records Management preferably with exposure to tools such as Documentum, Alfresco, SharePoint, etc.
Customer Relationship Management and omni channel customer interactions and related applications.
Data warehousing, data virtualtion and analytics tools and system integration.
Robotic Process Automation and technologies preferably NICE, PEGA Robotics, etc.
DevOps Methodologies and development best practises.
Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning technologies.
Commercial contracts, procurement and sourcing strategies.
TOGAF, AWS, Microsoft cloud certifications.
Enterprise Architecture tools such as Abacus, etc. Benefits
