A hard-working and exciting creative service business with offices in Blackburn has a newly created opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join their fast-growing distribution company.
This business boasts an incredibly rapid development during the lockdown periods. With a very tight-knit team, my client is looking to add another role to help with a variety of accounts and administrative responsibilities. With the increase of workload over the lockdown period, the company is in a period of growth, and thus the role has been created.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As an Accounts Assistant, you will be working individually on accounts, and you will spend two days in the week processing the invoices. You will be supporting the Head of Accounts in a range of administrative and accounts duties. You will be responsible for reconciliations and the cash allocation for the business accounts. The business runs an Amazon account, and your role will involve organising and managing this account.
The business is run to a very high standard, and you will always find yourself with something to do. The workforce is very long-standing, and the role will a great opportunity for someone who is looking to commit to a long term and stable role. You will not be processing any payroll, but you will find your role covering both accounts work, as well as covering a lot of administrative work during your day-to-day work.
Due to the fast-changing nature of this working environment, you will be a dynamic individual who is adaptable, fantastic at timekeeping and always reliable, as you will be a key piece of the puzzle. The business uses Sage currently but are working towards using Xero software. You will not need experience in using Xero, as the team will all be training in using Xero software. Any academic qualifications are not essential, although they will strengthen your application. You will need to have a strong level of maths and English, both written and spoken. Experience is useful but not necessary; the most important part to an applicant is being able to handle a large workload and be able to remain calm and concise.
The rewards for a successful applicant will be that you will enjoy a gradually increasing holiday allocation; starting at statutory pay and increasing the more years you remain at the company. The role also includes a bonus for the Christmas holiday period. The role also includes a pension scheme and maternity/paternity time off. The working hours are slightly flexible, although you will be expected to work full time.
