They have recently announced a new acquisition which has increased their portfolio size from 7 to 20 sites. They have grown rapidly through acquisition and have become a true leader in the industry, but they're not finished yet. They have an amazing atmosphere both on their sites and their HQ in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

Although they're ambitious with their growth plans and would like people that share their excitement for growth, wanting to work in an ever-changing and fast paced environment, they genuinely have a welcoming, friendly and inclusive culture that is adopted across the whole company, in everything they do.

We're looking for an ACA/ACCA/CIMA newly Qualified Accountant to join the business as a Management Accountant and take control of their c.£50m capital expenditure budget. This position will require an individual who can really get under the skin of their capex spend to understand in depth each project as it develops. You'll be working closely with the Operations and Project Management team as well as the Company Accountant, and will focus on managing, monitoring and reporting on the capital expenditure plan.

You will be involved in all aspects of financial and management accounting and provide stakeholders with the key financial information to enable them to take the company forward successfully.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the capex budgeting process
  • Assessing ROI's and supporting the board approval process
  • Monitoring fixed asset spend and ensuring projects are in line with budgets
  • Forecasting cashflows associated with capital projects
  • Prepare reports and monitor data for internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and develop reports in PowerBI
  • Travel to sites across the country to monitor progress of projects
  • Assessment of capex spend for capital allowance purposes
  • Monitor stock levels, ageing and transfers to fixed assets
  • Various ad hoc project work

This role is an excellent opportunity for a first move into industry from practice or someone already working in industry looking to progress their career with a leading company. There there is significant potential for making a mark in a dynamic, ambitious business, and requires an individual who gains satisfaction from getting into the detail.
