An independent, employee-owned, specialist insurance broking group with an innovative approach, seeks an exceptional, senior level marketing specialist to join the firm as their first Global Marketing and Communications Director.
The firm has experienced a period of rapid expansion and continues to deliver successful year on year growth. Operating globally, they employ over 500 people and handle around $3 billion of insurance premium. The role will sit as part of the UK leadership team at the firm's London head office and will oversee marketing resource in London and Dallas who are delivering day to day support to business units globally. Reporting into the COO, the successful candidate will serve as a member of the global leadership team and will frequently engage with the Group Board, including CEO. This will be a key senior role, instrumental to the firm's future success, and represents a real opportunity for progression and development within the business. The Global Marketing and Communications Director's main goal will be to build the firm's brand as the leading independent insurance broker, making a difference to clients around the world. You will oversee all the marketing operations of the company and will be tasked with developing and delivering the next stage of the firm's marketing strategy. The role holder will be supported by a small central Marketing and Business Development team and will be required to actively engage with global teams to support them in developing their marketing capabilities and approaches. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced marketeer to drive a step change, supporting the next stage of global growth in this very successful business. Areas of priority will include creating a distinctive brand in new markets and building the firm's reinsurance brand globally, attracting both clients and talented people to work with the firm. You will be responsible for rapidly increasing the firm's digital media presence, owning the media space around agreed strategic themes and developing a marketing and sales approach and culture which will drive opportunities through improved prospecting and developing existing client accounts.
The ideal candidate will be a pragmatic, tenacious, confident and 'can-do' marketing professional, who balances creativity with a practical delivery mind-set. With extensive proven experience in a comparable role within a global business to business environment, including time spent working in the financial services sector, you will be able to demonstrate previous success in developing and delivering strategies and plans for all aspects of marketing and business development and possess a strong ability to drive a step change in the use of digital media. In addition, the Global Marketing and Communications Director will need sufficient credibility to influence, challenge and change in the firm's marketing strategy and will require outstanding teamwork, leadership and implementation skills.
