Job Details

MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING
  • Cashflows - annual, monthly, and ad hoc
  • Budgets - annual
  • Monthly Management accounts
  • Processing and reviewing Nominal and Control accounts
  • Maintain Balance Sheet reconciliations including but not limited too Suspense Account, Prepayments, Accruals, Accrued Income [deferred income where appropriate], PAYE and Pension liabilities
  • Supply narrative for any significant over or under budgets lines
  • Journal review and post new month end and ad hoc journals as required
  • Ledger review to ensure accuracy of P&L and BS accounts
  • Provide Monthly reconciliation and report of Marketing Expenditure to Callum O'Hare Head of Marketing
PAYROLL
  • On boarding Starters
  • Processing Leavers
  • Processing Pensions
  • Calculating monthly pay run and reconciling any differences.
  • Review automatic posting of Payroll Journal.
  • Managing any SSP SMP SPP issues
  • Maintain Holiday and sickness Chart [Google Doc] -will move to an online free portal in due course
  • Maintain Company records on database
  • Preparation of Employee Contracts
  • Seek references where applicable
  • Support Leadership Team with any HR issues concerning staff
VAT
  • Quarterly VAT Returns
  • Prepare, review and submit on-line through HMRC portal.
  • Managing any Compliance requests or other audits
Other
  • Oversee purchase ledger and credit control
  • File Confirmation Statements
  • File Change of Addresses
  • File People with Significant Control updates
  • Liaise with Insurers over annual renewal of PI, ELI, etc
Requirements
  • Proven experience as management accountant, accounting supervisor or similar role
  • Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices
  • Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting
  • Excellent knowledge or risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting
  • Working knowledge of financial software and MS Office
  • Analytical mind with aptitude in math
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A problem-solver with attention to detail
  • Organizational and leadership skills
  • BSc/BA in accounting, finance or similar field
  • Relevant certification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA) will be preferred
