Recruiting for a Senior Finance Rents Officer at our Head Office in Westminster!GBP 30,000 per annum, working 35 hours per week, plus 25 days Annual Leave, Pension schemes, Staff discounts, healthcare and more.Job Overview:The Senior Finance Officer (Rents) will play a key part in the delivery of an efficient and effective Rents finance service to the business and it's customers by undertaking analysis, accounting, and reconciliation activities that ensure the completeness and accuracy of our customers' rent accounts. As well as ensuring efficient and accurate transaction processing, the successful candidate will assist in the preparation of the monthly management accounts and supporting information.Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the timely and accurate processing of the rent debit, rent receipts and other rent and service charge adjustments- Ensure month end reports completion as well as detailed analysis in order to recognise any errors and action accordiingly- Held responsibility for the reconciliations of service charge control accounts- Ensure customer payment files including Standing orders, Housing Benefit and Allpay are posted to customer accounts within one working day of the cash being received in the bank account - Ensure the weekly posting of Housing Management system interface files - Perform weekly reconciliation of the Rent Ledger and Rents bank account- Undertook monthly reconciliation of rent and bank statements- Review and clear the suspense accounts and investigate discrepancies on a weekly basis- Manage the rents mailbox and deal promptly and effectively with all queries- Assist in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly management accounts and supporting information- Analyse variances and explore potential problems and agree action plans with the Finance Income Manager- Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements- Prepare the Rent Review update file as per the required timescales and participate in the validation of the upload- Responsible for the completion and implementation of new annual rental charges to all registered tenants- Formalise/Improve liaison with the rest of the business- Work flexibly and co-operatively as part of the team and the Finance Department- Produced accurate and timely reports for service managers, KPI's to Board and external stakeholders on rent collection, arrears and voids Person Specification:- Enjoys social interaction and the company of others, joins in local activities to encourage service-user involvement - Approachable and open behaviour- Prefers working as part of a group or team- Is fundamentally calm and resilient, does not let emotion adversely affect them or obscure their judgement- Has a practical and logical mind and is naturally well organised- Thrives on change and enjoys dynamic diverse environments- Is confident with high levels of self-esteem Essential:- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage their own workload- At least two years experience in a rent accounting or relevant role- Experience of balance sheet reconciliations- Excellent attention to detail- Ability to cope under pressure- Excellent IT & communication skillsDesirable:- Experience of working in a social Housing organisation- Experience of working with Civica Cx - Experience of working with SUN accounts - Graduate or AAT qualified For the full job description, please visit the Look Ahead website.
