4Sight Vision Support currently supports over 2,000 blind and sight impaired children and adults living in West Sussex, however, there are an estimated 34,500 people living with some form of sight loss in our County. We have ambitious plans to grow our services and further tailor the support we offer, over the next 3-5 years.

Having recently completed a Fundraising Audit, updated our Mission, Vision and Values and devised a new Future Services Strategy, this is an exciting time to join - you could be part of the transformation.

The Fundraising Officer role sits within the Fundraising, Marketing Communications team and will be providing maternity leave cover for approximately 8-10 months. The role is responsible for building and stewarding relationships withindividuals, community groups, schools and supporters holding their own fundraising events, as well as devising and delivering a programme of 4Sight Vision Support events. The Fundraising Officer will also support with the delivery of our Gifts in Wills/Legacy programme in September/October.

While our Head Office is based in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, we offer a very flexible approach to hours, days and location.

Fundraising Officer role and responsibilities:

Work with the Fundraising Manager to plan, budget, coordinate and deliver a programme of 4Sight Vision Support Fundraising events, including a number of 100th Anniversary events already in the calendar.
Support challenge event fundraisers, community groups and schools to help them maximise income through their fundraising activities.
Support with the delivery and development of our recycling programme.
Thanking and ensuring ongoing stewardship of individual donors, community groups, schools and supporters holding their own events and participating in our events.
Work with the Fundraising Manager to support with siting new collection boxes and maintain ongoing contact with sites.
Support the Fundraising Manager in the development and delivery of our existing fundraising strategy and plans.
To contribute to the further development of optimal CRM usage for planning and reporting work with the Fundraising Manager.

Skills and Experience:

Experience of events and/or community fundraising activities.
Relevant fundraising qualification or experience equivalent to a degree qualification is desirable.
Experience of broader fundraising disciplines is desirable.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to proactively plan and manage a varied and busy workload.

Job Type: Part time - 21 hours per week

Salary: £22,000 p.a. FTE - £13,200 p.a. pro rata

Hours and workplace:

Hours to be worked, in the main, Monday to Friday, however some evening and weekend working may be required in accordance with the needs of the charity. We offer a flexible approach to working days/times, and to a hybrid model of working from home working and from our Head Office in Bognor Regis.
To keep our staff as safe as possible we are carrying out lateral flow testing twice a week and are following strict guidelines to ensure that those in the workplace wherever possible are following social distancing of 2 metres.
