Infrastructure Engineer - Linux Infrastructure Engineer
Our client have an exciting opportunity for an IT Infrastructure Engineer. The post holder will be responsible for providing 2nd and 3rd line support via a ticketing system to all IT related issues and incidents, as well as configuring, implementing, and maintaining the core hardware infrastructure.
The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic London-based technology company developing and delivering complex and innovative products into the aerospace, maritime and land mobile industries.
Technical Responsibilities:
* Provide 2nd and 3rd line support services to internal users and infrastructure related issues
* IT Systems (virtual and physical) installation, administration and support
* Linux/UNIX-based servers and CAD/EDA environment administration and support
* To pro-actively manage, maintain and develop IT capacity and performance across the associated infrastructure
* Configuration, implementation and maintenance of core hardware infrastructure (servers, storage, network) and related management tools
* Maintain system availability, security and applications patching
* Provide technical user support and troubleshoot issues and resolve system problems
* Provide effective incident and problem diagnosis and resolution, taking ownership where appropriate, utilising other internal and external support teams when required
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential:
* Extensive experience with Linux based Operating systems
* Networking experience, ideally CCNA/CCNP certified
* Ideally MCSA/MCSE certified
* Strong knowledge of VMware
* Experience with Azure
* Extensive experience with Active Directory, Group Policy and networking
