An opportunity has arisen for an Interim Capital Accountant within a South West NHS Trust, to identify the full accounting impacts of the transition to IFRS16, implement the new monitoring and reporting requirements through the ledger and the fixed asset register, and to complete all associated IFRS16 returns.
To provide support to the Chief Financial Accountant, Associate Director of Finance and Financial Controller in ensuring the provision of accurate and timely management information in respect of leases;
To develop and maintain right first time financial systems and processes to meet the needs of the Capital Accounting function with respect to IFRS16;
To provide advice to stakeholders with regards to capital accounting and associated financial regulations and procedures complaint with IFRS16;
To ensure the accuracy of the Trust's Capital Asset Register (ensuring compliance with IFRS16);
To maintain the accuracy of the Trust's Finance Lease Register (ensuring compliance with IFRS16).
Awareness of the current NHS "Agenda", national directives and Governance aspects;
Advanced knowledge in general accounting procedures;
Ability to demonstrate in depth, specialist theoretical and practical knowledge in capital accounting procedures, finance lease accounting procedures, relevant legislation and NHS finance policies.
