Position Title: UK Chief Engineer & Projects lead

Position Overview

The role is to primarily manage R&D teams in Haydock and Diss who are working on advanced medical and industrial gas equipment projects. Haydock is a centre for excellence in portable Oxygen concentrators and electronics development including connected technologies. The team in Diss are specialists in high purity gas application and medical gas pipeline systems.

The role will also focus on our project delivery model. The Global Innovation team runs concurrently in the region of 30 project simultaneously. This role will be working with the Director of Innovation to implement improvements to develop and manage the project portfolio.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Development and management of 10 R&D engineers

* Project deliveries on time, on budget

* Filing new products for CE/FDA approval

* Assisting with audits

* KPI and analysis reporting on projects

Qualifications

Degree in an Engineering discipline with masters and doctorate preferable

Chartered Engineer

Project management (eg Prince 2)

Language Capabilities

* English

* Other European language preferable

Education Requirements

* Degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering (post degree level preferable)

Technical Requirements

* 3D CAD proficiency

* Medical design requirements

* FDA filing, CE marking & ISO 13485

* Pressure equipment directive

Experience Requirements

* 10 years + experience preferably in medical devices and/or gas industry

* Manager of R&D

* Projects manager

* Knowledge and proven experience of working in a medical product environment

* Proven track record in innovation

* CE marking to MDR and FDA 510k filings

Mobility & Travel Requirements

* Regularly at Haydock and Diss facilities

* Ad hoc travel outside of UK
