Are you looking for a role supporting children with SEN?

Do you come from a care background or have a qualification in Child Psychology? We need you!

Teaching Personnel are working on an exclusive basis with a Trust of Schools based in Chesterfield. Due to the pandemic and changes across these settings, the schools are looking for additional support to work with children with SEN. There are varying needs across the Trust - including, but not limited to supporting children with; ASC; ADHD; SEMH; Physical Disabilities; Speech and Language; Personal Care; Cerebral Palsy; Down Syndrome. Due to the requirements of the Trust, we have multiple roles available and can accommodate full or part time staff members.

We are looking for someone who is patient, hardworking, proactive and nurturing. The ideal candidate will have experience within the last 6 months supporting children with SEN, or a willingness to undergo voluntary days in a specialist setting. Additional training such as ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant), knowledge of Child Psychology or Team Teach would be beneficial, but training can be provided through Teaching Personnel and the school.

Daily Rate: £66.30 - £80

Starting September 2021, or as soon as possible

Full or Part Time roles available

Roles and responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

Supporting the class teacher with classroom management, including monitoring and managing behaviour
Using positive behaviour management tools to reinforce expectations (Team Teach)
Supporting children identified with SEN, either on a 121 or small group basis
Deliver specialist interventions (ELSA - Emotional Literacy Support Assistant)
Administer personal care if needed
Communicate and consult with the class teacher and parents on progress
Work alongside the SENDCo to identify areas of improvement and what is working well
Use specialist resources such as Communicate in Print and ELSA to support individual needs
Support with the planning of class trips, adapting plans for individuals where needed
Undergo additional training, where needed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
