Our client, a leading engineering company within their field, is recruiting for a Team Leader for their production site in Nottingham. This long established, local firm has recently come under the umbrella of an international group of companies. As Team Leader you will be supervising a shift team's progress against work plans as defined by Production Management to ensure the proper use of machinery, equipment and assembly cells within a production area. You will work closely with the Production Manager to create an effective work environment and reinforce production schedules and quality.
Alongside this you will be the first line of communication for production staff, responsible for their health & safety, well being, training, development and motivation.
You will ensure Health & Safety and Quality policies are followed by your team and you will take pride in your team's record in these areas.
You will also be the first line of communication with the maintenance department to ensure machinery, tools and equipment are in good working order and running safely.
You have an interest in and a desire for the continuous improvement of the company.
You are reliable and have a solid work history.
You have experience of managing staff in an engineering or production environment.
Your communication skills are second to none and you take pride in developing a successful team.
If you have experience of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement this would be an advantage.
