Inclusion Family Support Co-ordinator

Home-Start in Suffolk is a countywide charity providing high quality, needs led, volunteer support to over 550 families within Suffolk each year.

We require an enthusiastic Inclusion family support coordinator to join our award-winning team.

Working primarily to support Eastern European nationals, with a specific emphasis on Romanian Roma communities. Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about inclusion, engagement, be familiar with providing support to families and have the ability to draw on their experiences.

This role aims to support, empower, and widen client participation in the Eastern European communities in Ipswich. We are looking for someone who is able to use their existing experience of working with minority groups to develop positive, professional relationships with a range of clients, volunteers, professionals, and other organisations. The successful candidate will also be able to create, organise, and deliver stimulating and informative awareness sessions to our wider team.

The ability to speak a relevant 2nd language is desirable in order to break down language barriers with parents who may feel isolated and knowledge of cultural barriers that may cause a parent to not access support.

Salary: £10,792 per annum actual (Full time £22,183) - until May 2023 18 hours per week

Closing Date: Midday, 13th August 2021

Interviews: Face to face - 18th/19th August 2021

Appointments will be subject to satisfactory references and DBS check at enhanced level will be required.

Whilst the post is open to all, we are particularly keen to attract candidates who are from underrepresented backgrounds and who may have experience of some of the issues faced by these communities.
