Job Summary
We are recruiting a senior healthcare assistant for our medium Care Home client within the Horstead area. Our client has numerous Care Homes throughout the UK and are currently recruiting in the Horstead area. The successful candidate will be patient and caring and able to provide a quality service to residents within a care home environment whilst enabling them to lead an active and independent life whilst also being responsible for a team of carers. You will be working in a large care home that has been rated good by the CQC in the most recent inspection.
Job Role
Our Care Team Managers will:-
Administer medication to residents
Order medication
Liaising with GPs, District Nurses, Social Workers & families
Writing care plans and evaluating them
Lead a team of Care staff
Provide a high level of care to the residents
Assist those that require it with:
Getting in and out of bed
Washing
Dressing
Toilet requirements
Their personal care
Assist those with mobility problems
Ensure that the preparation, cooking and serving of food meet the required standards

As a Senior Healthcare Assistant you will also lead a small team to ensure high quality of care and life for all the residents.
You will have minimum 2 years care experience and NVQ level 2 in Health & Social care is required but level 3 preferred and if you do not hold level 3 then it is mandatory you undertake the qualification.
Education, Skills and qualifications
Care Team Manager Skills required are:-
the ability to carry out Care Plans
Good verbal and written skills
Good observational skills
The ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships
NVQ Health Social Care Level 2
2 Years Care assistant experience
Medication trained
A knowledge in the following areas is desirable.
Health and safety
Manual handling
Fire safety
Vulnerable adult protection procedures
Anti-discriminatory practices
Understanding of working within a multicultural environment
