The role will be responsible for the review and selection of different packaging formats offered. Ensuring that they represent the best possible image of the brands to the consumer, whilst being cost effective, legally compliant and providing an environmentally responsible solution.

The role will be responsible for:
Maintaining awareness of developments in packaging technologies & legislation that could be relevant to the business
Ensuring that the companies packaging formats represent the best possible image of the companies brand;
Certifying that the packaging selected is cost effective, legally compliant and provide an environmentally responsible solution.
Meeting the company's commitment to the UK Plastics Pack and Courtauld commitments.
Supporting the Innovation and development process along with taking ownership of the various data reporting systems that monitor ongoing performance and cover the legal packaging waste responsibilities.
Monitoring and reporting on any innovation and legal developments within the markets operated.
Supporting new development activities to ensure that all facets, from label to pallet meet standards and expectations.
Being the business expert in relation to WRAP compliance and extended producer responsibility and actively driving projects to mitigate exposure.
Owning all packaging waste, and the submission of the data to relevant parties and customers.
Maintaining an overview of capabilities within the supply chain.
Resolving packaging material issues, ensuring that all packaging is fit for purpose
Acting as the technical interface with packaging suppliers as required.
Ensuring that all materials used are legally compliant and appropriate declarations of conformity are held.
Supporting all packaging related aspects of projects from concept to launch.
Owning and managing the third-party artwork provider and the artwork approval process.
Supporting packaging & transit trials.
Support the internal safety culture by adhering to safe working practices and demonstrating a personal commitment to health and safety.Profile
Applicants should be:
Qualified to degree level (or equivalent).
Highly knowledgeable on EU/UK food packaging legislation.
Experienced in the Packaging or FMCG Industry sector.
Familiar with different packaging formats (e.g. film flexible packaging, carton board primary packaging and different secondary and tertiary packaging formats.Able to demonstrate management of projects from concept through to launch; ideally with project management skills.
Proactive and able to work on own initiative managing and supporting complex projects cross functionally.
Holding a full driving licence (supplier / site visits).
Be able to travel internationally (passport).Job Offer
