One of Teaching Personnel's client schools in Stockport, is looking to appoint a Behaviour Support Assistant to work with a student who struggles to engage. The student in question is described by the school as being very able, and should go on to achieve numerous GCSE passes in the future.
Since the lockdown period, the student has struggle to re-integrate to school life. It is hoped, that the appointment of a Behaviour Support Assistant will help the student to re-engage. In order to be considered for this position, you must hold a degree or a registered qualification such as Teaching Assistant Level 3, or similar. Experience working with children who display challenging behaviour is highly desirable. The school are hoping that they can appoint a strong candidate with outstanding interpersonal skills.
The role will involve supporting the student within lessons, as well as providing guidance and support to other students in accordance with school policies. As the student can often be challenging to work with, it is vital that the applicant can provide consistent pastoral support. Communicating with the students parents and teachers will be necessary in order to establish action plans in both the short and long term.
The applicant will need to be confident in establishing positive working relationships with the student (and other children)
