Marketing & Development Manager

Puppet Animation Scotland

Deadline: 17 August 2021 at 09:00

Seeking an individual with initiative, empathy, rigour and exceptional communication skills to join our small team at this exciting time in our organisation's development.

Puppet Animation Scotland is a Scottish-based organisation whose mission is to champion, develop and present puppetry, visual theatre and animated film in Scotland and internationally. Each year we produce two festivals, MANIPULATE and Puppet Animation Festival, alongside a year-round programme of artist development and community engagement activities.

The Marketing & Development Manager is a new position in the Puppet Animation Scotland team, with management responsibility for both communications and fundraising across the portfolio of our work. It would suit a candidate who is a strategic thinker and confident communicator, with a background in communications or development and experience of engaging a wide range of stakeholders. The purpose of the role is to work with the Puppet Animation Scotland team to raise the profile of the organisation, generate revenue to support our work, engage diverse stakeholders with our mission, and to play a key role in realising our aim to champion, develop and promote puppetry, visual theatre and animated film in Scotland.

We have put together a job pack to give prospective candidates a clearer idea of who we are, what it might be like to work with us, and what the role entails. We strongly encourage applications from those currently under-represented in the arts including the d/Deaf and disabled community; the LGBTQI+ community and people who identify as Black, Asian, Latinx, Indigenous, People of Colour, Biracial, Middle Eastern and North African or have mixed heritage. To find out who is currently on our board and staff team including details of the current demographic makeup of the team, please see our recruitment pack.

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week (job share may be considered for this post)
Contract type: Fixed term 1 year*
Salary: £26000-27500
Location: Central Edinburgh with some home working possible

This role has been funded for 1 year through the Scottish Government's Adapt and Thrive Programme and is offered as a fixed term. It is our intention to continue with the position beyond the scope of this contract, subject to the success of our fundraising efforts and other business development activity planned for the coming year.

The deadline for applications is 17 August 2021 at 9am. Please visit our website at this address to download a recruitment pack and find out more about the role.
