Adult Social Care Solicitor- London- Contract- £45ph umbrella

Our client are a large public sector organisation looking for a qualified Solicitor with a background in Adult social care for a locum post in London. (Currently remote).

You will be one of a team of lawyers dealing with Adults Social Care, reporting to the Principal Lawyer - (Safeguarding) Adults.

The work will predominantly be providing advice on and the conduct of cases involving adult social services issues including general advice to the client department in respect of their obligations under the Care Act 2014; advising on the organisations responsibilities to persons who have no recourse to public funds, dealing with matters arising under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 including deprivation of liberty safeguards and conduct of Court of Protection cases; advising on the organisations responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 1983; dealing with both threats of and extant judicial review proceedings.

What we need;
We are looking for a qualified Solicitor/barrister or fellow CILEX with;
- knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation and guidance is required
-Knowledge of the interface between adult social care and NHS duties, including continuing health care would be an advantage.
-Managing Court of Protection welfare cases Mental health cases - s117 and nearest relative Ordinary residence Care Act assessments and finances
