Finance Assistant (Cashier & Sales Ledger)
College location: East Surrey College (Redhill) this is a Cross-College role
Salary: £21,369 - £21,987 (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)
Hours: Full time (37 hours/week)
We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Finance Assistant (Cashier & Sales Ledger) to join our Cross-College Finance department.
In this busy and fast-paced role you will providing general administrative support to the Finance team, with specific responsibilities for ensuring the timely and effective operation of the cashiering and sales ledger functions and providing service and support to College Group staff and students.
Working closely with the Finance & Payroll Operations Manager you will manage the College Group's physical cash balances and petty cash floats across all sites, complete monthly bank reconciliations, process refunds and write offs of outstanding debtor balances, take card payments and record receipts on our Student Management system (EBS).
You will also process sales orders as College invoices, ensure that sales order requests are properly authorised and appropriately coded, match invoices and payments in order to maintain a clean sales ledger. You will also be accountable for reviewing aged debtor balances and monthly reporting of outstanding third party debt
The successful candidate must have:
* Cashiering experience
* Credit Control knowledge
* Experience completing Balance Sheet Reconciliations
* Intermediate to strong Excel / MS Office skills
* Understanding of double entry bookkeeping
