We are delighted to be working in partnership with our Glasgow based client who are looking to recruit a Assistant Legal Cashier on a full time, permanent basis.

Working within the professional services sector, your role will be to support the Cash Department Manager in delivering a seamless service to Partners and Employees.

Role Responsibilities
  • You will process Client and Firm postings
  • Process expense claims
  • Raise payments, cheques and electronically
  • Banking of client and firm cheques
  • Processing deposit account transactions
  • Processing purchase ledger payments
  • Allocating payment to fees
  • Reconciling monthly other funds reports
  • Responding to internal queries
  • Daily reconciliation of online credit card payment transactions
  • Monthly reconciliation of credit card statements
  • Cross train with the other Assistant Legal Cashiers across the Finance function and provide flexible support
  • Undertake adhoc tasks
  • Adhering to the firms procedures and law society rules
  • Responsible for the raising of fee notes and credit notes
  • Managing the team mailbox
  • Working with colleagues, customers and the systems development team to identify and implement process efficiency
  • Act as a subject matter expert for billing, ensuring process documentation is kept up to date
  • Provide credit control services and all associated tasks
  • Process credit and debit balancesProcessing balance reports


To be considered for this opportunity, our client does require the following experience /background:
  • Full SOLAS qualification or committed to work to achieve this
  • Background working within a busy cashiering or finance environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong understanding of AML, VAT and Regulatory Authority experience
  • Good understanding of postings made to the firm and client ledgers
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Willingness to be flexible and proactive
  • Naturally positive, hardworking with a commitment to succeed
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise
  • High level of attention to detail with first class communication and interpersonal skills
