Reporting to the CEO the Lead Developer will manage the development team (currently 3 developers) and be responsible for all customer development and support within the business. Being a small company the role will be wide ranging, providing the chosen candidate a unique chance to help shape the future of the company.
Lead Software Developer – SaaS – Remote Flex. £55-65K

£55,000 – £65,000 plus equity participation
We are a fast growing, profitable SaaS business focusing on our proprietary JEM cloud platform. JEM is a complete business management platform enabling everything from Configure / Price / Quote & Provisioning to Billing & Inventory Management, all within a centralised CRM. JEM delivers the features of larger, less flexible ERP systems, in a simple to use and affordable package, providing a clear return on investment. Our clients range from startups to multinational corporations and operate in a range of markets from IT distributors to telecoms resellers and MVNOs.
+ Managing the workload of the development team (currently 2 graduate / junior developers and 1 part-time senior developer, but expected to grow over time).
+ Delivering functionality in the JEM platform for new and existing customers according to the direction of the CEO (who will also undertake the role of CTO and be responsible for the product roadmap).
+ Motivating, coaching and identifying the training needs of the development team, in particular the junior developers.
+ Achieving a full understanding of the JEM code base and its use by customers.
+ Ensuring customer support issues are resolved within SLAs.
+ Managing code branches across customers so that they always converge back to a single branch over time.
+ Introduction of new methodologies and processes for Development / QA / Testing.
+ Documentation of new functionality, including release notes and assistance with user guides.
+ Significant coding experience in industry, with a minimum of 2 years experience managing the work of junior developers
+ Experience of working in a larger software development organisation, with exposure to modern development methodologies
