A commercially focused Finance Manager position has arisen at a boutique family office based in Central London.

The family office has been established for over a decade and has a diverse portfolio of tangible and intangible investments. Most notable is a sizeable and diverse property portfolio that spans residential and commercial real estate.

Having experienced exponential growth over the last few years, the need has arisen for a first hire into finance that will report directly to the family members.

Given the fluidity of the business and the role, the day to day isn't easy to outline, and the incumbent will have to be someone who enjoys a less rigid environment. Some of the immediate key areas will cover: the consolidation of management accounts across the property business, supporting the creation of a new group structure, oversight and supervision of the bookkeeper, annual statutory accounts and portfolio monitoring and analysis.

This eclectic role promises plenty of variety in the day to day, and you'll be the go-to person in finance for the family members. You can expect to be getting involved in tonnes of projects that will involve decision making and strategic input through financial planning and analysis to appraising target investments.

Requirements include:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) and ideally with 1-3 years' worth of post qualified experience
  • Experience within the investment management industry is highly preferential, this can be from a family office, a fund or an asset manager. Alternatively, you could be working in a practice environment with similar types of clients.
  • Strong attention to detail with a 'sleeves rolled up' attitude

This is a fast paced environment with a family feel culture providing a genuine opportunity for the individual to progress as the business continues to grow. The salary on offer is £60,000-70,000 with a discretionary bonus.
