An overseas banking institution wish to recruit within the data governance team, the role will have the ownership of ensuring that all information assets comply with industry good practice and relevant legislations, such as the UK GDPR, UK Data Protection Act 2018 and Privacy of Electronic.

  • Supporting the Head of Data and Process Management Office by developing and managing a data protection program that is aligned with the bank' strategic objectives, technology roadmap and legal and regulatory compliance framework
  • Monitoring compliance with the GDPR and other data protection laws, and with the organisation's data protection polices, including managing internal data protection activities, raising awareness of data protection issues, training staff and conducting internal audits
  • Ensuring that business and technology owners consider data protection obligations when designing/implementing new business processes and services or changing existing ones
  • Maintaining the organisation's data asset register, ensuing that is it complete, fit for purpose and is reviewed on a scheduled basis
  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating content for customer and supplier agreements to ensure GDPR compliance
  • Assisting with the development, review and oversight of appropriate policies and procedures for data protection and privacy across the Bank

  • Degree level educated (preferably IT, Compliance, law, banking or finance)
  • Banking, IT and/or Compliance related qualification. Certified GDPR practitioner preferable. Compliance experience includes Data Privacy, Cyber Security, Experience in DPIA's, DSARS and reporting and liaising with the ICO
  • General Data Protection Regulations, standards, market awareness
