The company
Nigel Wright is pleased to be representing a repeat client with its search for a Product Activation Manager. This is a new opportunity that will join a head office marketing team, with the role being created out of a sustained period of growth. The company is well regarded within its industry as an innovative market leader.

This role has responsibility for an established category, owning the go-to-market plan for new product launches, representing the voice of the customer, and market insights internally. The position would suit a candidate with existing skills and experience from a trade marketing, category management, or merchandising role (or similar).

The role
  • A customer-focused role that will work as part of the UK marketing function, being the voice of the customer and an expert in their defined category
  • Taking ownership of the go-to-market plan within retail and eCommerce, for all product launches within the category, with activity to typically will include;
  1. online and in-store activation
  2. POS and merchandising
  3. supporting retailer uptake
  4. range management and mapping
  5. gathering insights and feedback
  • Helping to define the 4ps for the range with colleagues in sales, product, and eCommerce
  • Analysis and interpretation of customer response and feedback to product, presenting this back to stakeholders and helping to suggest changes or outcomes to increase sales and market share
  • Strategically and proactively identifying opportunities for increased sales, market share and, brand awareness, translating insight into outcomes as part of a team

Person specification
  • Experience from consumer goods essential
  • Role experience from a role such as trade marketing, category or merchandising, or similar
  • Analytical, organised, and a skilled communicator, to work well as part of a diverse group of colleagues and stakeholders
  • Will work well as part of a team collaboratively, but also confident and keen to set and drive an agenda for their own role
  • Consumer-focused and commercially astute
