With offices in Exeter, London and Bristol we are well placed to work with a diverse range of clients, with a specific focus on Private Wealth, Finance and Investment and Real Estate. We also have strong sector support for Technology and Innovation, Energy, Manufacturing and Public Sector work.

The Conveyancing team acts for a wide range of clients - from clients buying their first home to clients buying large country estates.

Our Conveyancing Solicitors have particular experience with buying and selling large country estates, and high-end residential properties, both in London and the South West. Increasingly, these property transactions involve an international element, and we are able to call upon the expertise of our Private Wealth team, to assist in any necessary tax planning.

The Role

The Conveyancing Assistant is responsible in supporting the team in delivering a first class service to clients. The successful candidate will have conveyancing experience and be looking to join a market-leading firm. Experience of dealing with clients, Estate Agents and other third parties is essential along with previous experience of supporting and assisting a busy team of Lawyers.

Main Duties

  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all firm and client documentation and/or information
  • Ensure client and matter records are made and maintained in line with the firm's procedures
  • Manage files diligently and review each regularly
  • Compliance with internal policies and procedures, ethical standards and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain regular contact with the client and keep him/her informed at all times
  • Deal promptly with all client enquiries and correspondence
  • Maintain effective communication with colleagues across the firm, as required
  • Adhere to the Solicitor's Regulation Authority (SRA) Client Care directive and ensure the client care documentation is issued at the relevant time
  • Ensure clients are aware of all legal services across the firm
  • Understand the obligations relating to client accounts and ensure that the preparation and service of bills complies with Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Maintain time recording on client matters on a daily basis in accordance with the firm's procedures

  • Previous experience in Conveyancing/Residential Property
  • Able to work at high volume and at a pace
  • Enthusiastic, friendly team player
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines in a flexible and proactive way
  • Excellent communication skills as the successful candidate
