TeacherActive are recruiting for a registered manager for a residential children's home, registered for 4 young people with learning disabilities and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.
We are looking for a manager who thinks out of the box, and has new and innovative ideas for shaping the future of the way we work with children in care.
We require a manager to ensure that the Home meets the standards and expectations of its Statement of Purpose. To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and to ensure that the quality of care provided is consistent with Care Standards. To establish and maintain a competent, motivated and confident staff team and to offer leadership, managerial direction, guidance and support to staff at all levels. To ensure that the Home's policies and procedures are adhered to and that resources are managed effectively. To develop systems for the efficient administration of the Home and to ensure that the fabric of the Home, equipment, appliances and grounds are maintained to the highest order in accordance with Health and Safety requirements. To manage child protection concerns and complaints. To liaise with Local Authorities, School, Health and other professionals to achieve best outcomes for young people. To actively promote the Home's equal opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice policies. To lead Ofsted inspections and ensure a grading of at least good. To work with commissioners and placement authorities, actively pursuing and maintaining placements within the home. To manage budgets effectively, co ordinate rotas and training. To ensure the well being, safety and happiness of our young people as paramount. This list is not exhaustive of the requirements of a registered managers duties.
We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager with at least 3 years experience of management with a history of an excellent understanding of relevant legislation and compliance, with either a good or outstanding rating within a provision.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification).
Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification).
Full UK Driving Licence.
Previous experience of work with families would be an advantage.
Evidence of ongoing training, development and commitment favourable.
To be able to supervise, set goals and be a positive role model.
The ability to work alone and as a team member, with a hands on approach. This is not a totally administrative role. We want our registered manager to play an active part of the day to day runnings of the home, alongside the team.
Experience of working with young people with learning disabilities, autism and of working with and managing challenging behaviour.
The ability to be dedicated to managing and facilitating the needs of the home that is in operation 24 hours a day.
A clean enhanced DBS check.
Salary is negotiable dependent on experience
