SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA)

£59.94 - £64.93 per day

Vision for Education is looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) to join our successful supply team and work in a friendly primary school in Durham, DH1 area. This is a fixed term SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) role, which will commence in September 2021 - December 2021 with a vision for further employment post December. Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.

The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are Level 2 TA qualification and experience with SEND children.

The role

Working as part of a dynamic and creative team in a primary school you will be providing 1:1 and small group support in an Early Years / KS1 setting. Previous experience supporting SEND children and delivering Read Write Inc is essential. Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and other special educational needs would be beneficial.

Requirements

To be considered for the SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) position, you will:

Hold a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Childcare.
Have experience of working as a Teaching Assistant in a school environment.
Be experienced in working with smaller nurture groups to boost attainment.

Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff.
Have some experience supporting children in primary education in Early Years / KS1.
Ideally have experience delivering Literacy and Maths interventions.
Experience in delivering 1:1 support and small group support.
