Have you got a background in SpLD and supporting students and would like a new challenge?

Would you like to choose your own hours whilst having a rewarding role?

We are looking for people with a background in SpLD/Dyslexia in the Burnley area to support higher education students to improve their study skills and become more independent learners. In your role, you would work directly with students to create an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) tailored to each specific student's requirements.

We are looking for the right individuals to join our growing specialist team to start providing support from September 2021.

You will be expected to:

Provide individual support to students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD)
Support students in time management, assignment planning, research and comprehension skills, etc.
Set clear aims and objectives with students and support students to meet these
Work closely with Randstad to ensure any concerns are addressed in a timely manner
Act professionally and in a confidential manner within your role at all timesRequirements

This is a specialist role, so it is essential you hold a professional membership with one of the following:

Professional Association for Teachers and Assessors (PATOSS)
British Dyslexia Association (BDA)
Dyslexia Guild
The Association of Dyslexia Specialists in Higher Education (ADSHE)Further skills/requirements include:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths whilst maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship
Accurate spelling and grammar skills
Punctuality and reliability
