Hays Education are looking to recruit qualified SEN Teaching Assistants in diverse Secondary Schools based in East London in the borough of Newham. The roles start on September 2021. You will be working from Monday to Friday.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will have minimum of 1 years' experience working with SEN pupils. You will have a calm and friendly personality. You will be hard working and enthusiastic with the ability to use his or her own initiative. You will need to be able to create and tailor activities according to the child's needs. It is also essential that you feel confident making observations, writing reports according to EHCP for the individual pupils as well as liaising with parents and other staff members. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to support pupils progress and develop across multiple subjects, i.e. numeracy, literacy and science.
To be successful, you will need to have:
Proven experience supporting children with SEN
Tracked record supporting Secondary aged children in a school setting, with a desire to support SEN children and facilitate inclusion
Enjoy working with Secondary aged students
Confident with UK National Curriculum
Knowledge / experience of PECS, Makaton, Visual Timetables, Colourful Semantics, Social Stories, Guided Reading
Working under the direction of a class teacher and the SENCO where you will follow and implement IEPs (Individual Educational Plans)
Preparing resources and teaching materials for the individual pupils
Managing pupil behaviour
