Your new school

Hays Education are working with a Secondary school in North Leicestershire who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to start in the new Academic Year (August 21). This is a full time long term position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Your responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work with students 1:1 or in small groups to promote their engagement and learning. You will support students with additional needs including Moderate Learning Difficulties, Autism and behavioural difficulties. You will assist the Teacher in the management of students, resources and the classroom environment. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area. You will establish constructive relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs. You will operate within legal parameters as described in the school's policies and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

For this role, you will have recent experience of working in a school setting and ideally have supported students with Special Educational Needs. You will have an interest in working with challenging, vulnerable or at risk young people and be passionate about making a difference. You will also be able to work as part of a team to best meet the needs of pupils. You will ideally hold a Teaching Assistant (or equivalent) qualification but this is not essential.

What you'll get in return

This is a rewarding role where you can join a well-established Secondary school that prides itself on ensuring that students are 'prepared for the future'. You will receive a competitive daily rate, holiday pay and access to free training including Safeguarding and Behaviour Management.
