Job title; Back Office Analyst

Location; London

About the company;

International foreign exchange and global payment services company

Role purpose;

Responsible for ensuring all day to day back office activities for regulated entities are performed accurately, within the agreed processes and time frames and carrying out activities and oversight management for payments, settlements, and financial institutions group as request by back office manager.

Role responsibilities;

Carry out reconciliations for MiFID regulated entities
Investigate and rectify issues in agreed time frames
Ensure all processes are documented
Identify improvements to processes and upon authorisation implement changes

Ensure all FX and derivative counterparty/bank side confirmations are matched timely and accurately
Investigate unmatched confirmations, liaising with front office teams and IT until resolution

Calculate and process transfers between company accounts to ensure payments are processed on time, no account is overdrawn overnight, and company is fully compliant with requirements specified by regulations or company processes
Perform day to day monitoring of outsourced activities, ensuring compliance with processes and procedures and agreed SLAs
Report non-compliance to relevant senior management
Be a representative for Back Office in project meetings regarding FX derivative produced
Work with project team to devise and roll out back office processes and procedures for newly authorised MiFID entity

Calculate and agree FX settlement amounts with counterparty banks and group entities
Ensure nettings are processed and fully reconciled on a daily basis
Investigate outstanding settlements, liaising with banks, front office teams and senior management until resolved
Gain a full understanding of the company's policy regarding AML and compliance to ensure that the teams have completed all workloads in-line with requirements, including safeguarding, CASS, CAR, US Permissible investments and any additional regulations back office activities must be compliant with.

Monitor the back office mailbox to ensure all internal emails are processed within agreed timeframes Ad hoc tasks will be required of the role, based on company needs
Queries are dealt with in a reasonable timeframe
Assist with project work as and when required

Advantageous skills;

Experience in back office in a bank or FX company
Proficient in FX derivative products
Good knowledge of reconciliations and investigations
Preferable to have experience in SWIFT payment messages and other payment channels
Preferable to have experience in Safeguarding, CASS and CAR

The ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
Good organisational skills including prioritisation
Clear communicator, verbal and written
Proficient in EXCEL, Word and Outlook
Good typing skills
The ability to resolve issues and errors
