We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and friendly Teaching Assistant to support the children in Year 6 at our lovely inclusive Camden Primary School. This would be an excellent opportunity for someone who would like to gain some experience of working with children in a school environment and would be suitable for either someone who hopes to go onto teacher training next year, or someone who has qualified as a teacher, but wants to gain more experience before taking on their own class full-time.
You'll need to have a passion for helping children achieve their full potential, and be comfortable working with children aged 10 and 11. A successful Teaching Assistant at this school will be able to demonstrate creativity and the ability to identify methods of supporting the learning of these children that have the best results.
The role is varied, and no day will be the same as another, but you can expect some of your duties to include;
- Providing support for students in the class with SEND, individually and in small groups.
- Establishing positive relationships with students, ensuring they are supported to demonstrate suitable behaviour for learning.
- Setting challenges for students, and supporting their academic and personal development.
- Working with the teacher and supporting with ideas for lesson planning over both the long-term and medium-term.
To be a successful applicant for this Teaching Assistant role, you'll need some experience supporting the learning of primary aged students, preferably in a classroom setting.
