About this client/child:
John, 6, is a lovely and sociable young chap who loves nursery rhymes, messy and sensory play, getting out and about on day and spending time with his family. John has cerebral palsy with complex needs including ventilation, CPAP he is non-verbal and has his medication and food administered via PEG.
Overview of role:
We are looking for a waking night carer to assist John with his night and morning routine. The position will involve supporting John during the night, ensuring he is comfortable, assist with his personal care needs and medication feeds and administration. Ensuring the sleep system is being used correctly, reposition John through the night. Support John to use CPAP, ventilation and provide chest physio and suctioning. In the morning you will get John ready for school and drive him there in his mobility Van. You need to have a manual driving licence. 2 Waking ngiths per week plus flexibility to cover other shifts (sick leave, annual leave) . £15.00 gross per hour between 10.00pm to 7.00am, £13.00 gross per hour between 7.00am to 10.00pm.

This role would suit confident, kind and experienced waking night carer who has experience working with young children with complex medical needs within home environment. Ideally you will have experience of Peg feeding and suctioning, but full training is provided.
