Kenton Black are partnering with the business to identify a commercially minded Financial Controller to join the finance function. This role will take ownership of one of the largest divisions within the group. With a successful track record spanning many years the business continue to thrive and offer progression, development and opportunity to their staff across all departments across the organisation. With exposure to commercial decision making and part of the strategic planning this role has a diverse set of duties and will suit a technical accountant who has a commercial mind-set and proven track record of making a difference as a finance professional.
Your new role as Financial Controller:
As Financial Controller you shall take responsibility for all aspects of the finance function across one of the largest business units in the group. With responsibility for developing and maintaining financial controls you shall also manage the reporting requirements and both management/statutory accounts. You shall use your leadership skills to development the Finance Team and work along-side Financial Controllers in other divisions to provide the detailed accounting information for the central finance function. As Financial Controller you shall seek to enhance finance transformation by improving processes and systems and be part of developing the internal finance systems.
Main Role Duties:
• Production of monthly management accounting, financial reports and annual statutory accounting
• Staff management, development and mentoring
• Production of month-end analysis
• Project accounting across the finance function to develop, improve and enhance process and procedure
• Variance analysis across your division
• Manage the transactional process to ensure the timely close of month end ledgers
• Working with Central Finance to complete weekly/monthly P&L forecasts
• Treasury management and management of all VAT, PAYE, corporation and other tax requirements
• Production of annual budgets and three year forecasts in partnership with the Central Finance Function
Experience & Qualifications Required to apply:
In order to be considered for this role you shall have a proven track record of adding value in a fast paced environment. Technically strong with a commercial mind-set you shall be CIMA /ACCA/ ACA qualified with strong technical skills and detailed knowledge of management and statutory accounting. You shall be able to demonstrate strong Excel skills being competent in the use of VLOOKUP's and pivot tables and have a proven ability to work under pressure. You shall have experience of developing process and procedure and have staff management experience with the ability to drive change and develop skills across a finance department.
