Support Engineer - 12 month contract - Samlesbury - £35.53ph UMB or £27.65ph PAYE (Inside IR35)

The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.

This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a Criminal Record Check. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC. In addition, this role involves direct access to ITAR Material. Therefore we can only consider UK Nationals for this position. Job description:

Two vacancies have arisen for Support Engineers based at Samlesbury, although at the present moment in time, due to the current pandemic restrictions, the successful candidates will be required to work from home.

The successful candidates will undertake preparation, research, production and subsequent maintenance of Aircraft Initial Provisioning Lists (IPL's). In addition, you will provide technical support and a query answering service to the customer and liaise with various technical and support departments on aspects related to Initial Provisioning.

As a Support Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:

Research, preparation and maintenance of technical logistics data, for subsequent use in service operations and maintenance activities.
Interaction with engineering personnel and/or the interrogation of contributory engineering databases.
Support in providing advice to equipment suppliers.
Ensuring that configuration control of the published data is maintained at all times.

What we're looking for in you:
The position requires an individual with a high degree of self motivation, and also the ability to pay particular attention to the quality and integrity of the data produced and product safety.

The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role. The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following:

Research, preparation and maintenance of technical logistics data, for subsequent use in service operations and maintenance activities.
Produce IPL data to the guidelines of AvP70 & ASD2000M and Enhanced Procurement System Standard Supply Procedures (EPS SSP's).
Close liaison with all aspects of Tornado Aircraft engineering, through the interaction with engineering personnel and/or the interrogation of contributory engineering databases.
Additional responsibilities include liaison, support and advise to equipment suppliers.
IPL Compilation Engineers work alongside technical illustrators in the creation of new and amended illustrations as these are a critical part of the technical data.
Configuration Control of all published data and the creation/maintenance of a job audit trail.

The individual:

In depth knowledge of the Tornado & Eurofighter Initial Provisioning List (IPL)/Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC) processes in particular with regard to AvP70 & ASD2000M and Enhanced Procurement System Standard Supply Procedures (EPS SSP's) would be advantageous but not essential.
Knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings would be an advantage.
Experience of publications toolsets an advantage.
A good level of IT literacy is required.
Good interpersonal skills are essential.
The candidate must be good with Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook
Communication, Team Working and Motivation are Essential

Working hours:
5 days p/wk (Mon-Fri) around relevant site core hours (7am - 6pm Mon - Thurs, 7am - 12.30pm Fri).

Hours required to work per week are 37.00 unless otherwise stated (this does not include lunch breaks).
Start and finish times to be agreed with local Line Management, in accordance with local site core hours.
Lunch break (unpaid) is 42 minutes which will automatically be deducted each working day from 12.30pm to 13.12pm by the electronic time management system.

Dependant on workload, local management may request more or less hours are worked within this contract
