Job Details

We are in need of an experienced Systems administrator to join a software house, they work with some of the largest telecommunications, energy providers on the market, the remainder of their client base feeds into the logistics and supply chain industry.

They see this systems administrator position moving heavily into a Devops role after the first 6-9 months. They use Azure, Docker, Ansible, Kubernetes so ideally you would have worked with a few of these before, if not you will be able to work with these within the role.

They are looking for previous experience with windows server and Hyper V, you will have a keen eye for automating processes and making them more efficient. A large part of their infrastructure is built on PowerShell scripts, so being able to write and formulate scripts in PowerShell, puppet or bash is essential with this role.

This role is remote but does require travel once a month to either Slough or Woking, reason being would be to perform hardware swap outs from their database warehouse. Being located within a commutable distance to either Slough or Woking is necessary.

Essential Skills

Worked within a windows server environment
Hyper V(Preference) or VMware
Automation experience - You will be able to provide multiple examples of where you have had to automate to improve processes to improve efficiency
Networking and switching - (Vlan & Cisco)
PowerShell Scripting - fluent in formulating and writing scripts Bonus
