My client is part of the UK's largest independent marketing agency network.

They now require a driven and ambitious Business Development Director.

Main duties

Business Development & Marketing

Develop, manage and deliver the prospect relationship management (PRM) marketing (B2B and B2C) and new business plans against business targets
Be responsible for securing new viable business by actively taking PRM offer to new customers, markets, relationships and networks
Drive and secure growth, increase commercial income and increase brand awareness by identifying new opportunities
Develop and manage new customer relationships
Lead client CRM strategy; implementation of client CRM system and client marcomms, client survey and collection of client content e.g. case studies
Create and shape the next marketing strategy and then deliver its targets by leading PRM marketing and new business resource, as well as working with wider PRM agency staff to cover all elements of advertising, media, PR, social media and direct engagement
Maintain close overview of target markets, of the competitor set, and of the customer base, using this information to establish competitive advantage for PRM Client Growth

Work with Client Services Director to identify opportunities for growth within existing client set
Support and educate Account Handlers to deliver presentations, proposals and new job estimates to clients on a weekly and monthly basis, in line with client growth objectives, and unidentified income targets
Work with Account Handlers to facilitate referrals in and outside client organisations, setting up new business meetings with new stakeholders
Lead sales and marketing education programme across client service team, building knowledge and capability within the team, aligned to creation of a wider sales culture across the PRM business at all levels
Act as additional senior client liaison for all new business within pilot phase Commercial Management

Establish and implement clear pricing models and guidelines for consistent application across all new business and client growth opportunities
Have responsibility for the Client-Agency contracting on all new business won
Be responsible for the development of all cost/commission proposals
Manage the PRM marketing budget for all external marketing costs, including recruitment advertising and job boards
Lead on the PRM job management system to ensure better practice, efficiency and transparency for commercial management
Ensure that the Account teams are accountable for all costs associated with live campaigns at implementation
Monitor that all quotes, invoices, and financial status meetings are delivered on time and timesheets are completed on a timely basis by relevant parties, undertaking commercial analysis of account profitability on a monthly basis
Ensure the minimisation of agency exposure to third party costs
Oversee financial interactions on accounts, ensuring good financial health, revenue streams and billing practices, identifying financial issues with Divisional Accountant as appropriate What you'll get in return
