Operations Support Engineer

£36,000 - Remote

Our client, a Housing Association, have an immediate requirement for a permanent Operations Support Engineer to join on a permanent basis. The technology and IT teams are remote and will be beyond the end of the pandemic.

Purpose of the Operations Support Engineer role
  • Assist with day-to-day operation and maintenance of technology infrastructure systems and software, including backup processes and procedures
  • Contribute to the implementation of upgrades and new systems
  • Contribute to 3rd line and provide 2nd line support for live systems and software

Knowledge and skills required for the Operations Support Engineer:
  • Rack/ Blade Servers (HP), Virtualisation & Clustering, Windows server products
  • Perform backups and restores
  • Support of Microsoft Exchange
  • Microsoft Internet Information Server
  • Microsoft Terminal Services
  • Security management (Firewall, Anti-virus, anti-spam and intrusion management)
  • Enterprise SAN & Backup (NetApp, TSM, 3Par)
  • SQL
  • MS Cloud Services (Azure, Office365)
  • Microsoft System Center
  • Avanti
  • Citrix
  • VMWare
  • CISCO Switches, Routers & Firewalls & OS
  • ITIL Foundation
