Finance Business Partner (Qualified)

Seymour John are proud to be partnering with a well-known Shrewsbury based business and as a result of large growth within a division, seek to recruit a newly created Finance Business Partner. In this role you will report directly to the Finance Director and partner with senior stakeholders within the division.

Financial Reporting Assist the Director of Finance in providing efficient and effective financial support to the management team, by taking responsibility for all assigned financial reporting, planning and forecasting requirements.

Financial Analysis Provide a collaborative partnership service to the divisional business leaders to help them better manage their areas of responsibility for improved financial return and accountability. Offer timely and accurate financial analysis, guidance, support and feedback to assist with decision making, future business development and resource planning.

Financial Shared Services Management Manage and develop finance resources in alignment with the mission and goals of the business so that the quality of financial support provided to the business is continually improved at best value

Risk Management Identify and help to maintain robust systems of control, risk management and cash management seeking improvement where possible

Collaboration, Leadership and Teamwork Work with peers to foster and develop a strong team culture, including the provision of cover for workflows across areas and support where appropriate. Embrace a vision for creating a positive working environment in order to help with development and succession planning for a world class finance team

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Provide a proactive finance service to the business in the execution of operating plans, forecasts and strategic plans whilst also providing suitable challenge. Seek to improve the financial analysis of operational activities and develop financial models to aid decision making.

Communicate and develop the understanding of financial information by operational leaders to enhance their business and financial acumen particularly in their assessment of operating performance and in the preparation of investment and strategic proposals such as capital expenditure, expansion and pricing

Production and timely submission of accurate monthly management accounting information & analysis, quarterly forecasts and annual business plans to the group

Ensure balance sheet and working capital balances are routinely reviewed and reconciled - Key focus areas include accrued and prepaid incomes, cash & bank balances and general accruals/ prepayments - Ensure transactions are accurately recorded and that balances are managed to support efficient use of cash & capital

Support the production/maintenance of reported financial information, including that required for the preparation of year-end audit and tax packs, VAT returns, other third parties (such as funding bodies) and quarterly Group submissions, ensuring all comply with Group accounting policies

To be considered for this role it is essential that you a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with relevant experience working in a commercially focussed management accounting role.
