The Assistant Dean of Academic Studies is a key leadership role, providing expertise and operational leadership in the curriculum design and implementation of Academic Programmes. Working with the Dean of Academic Studies, the role will lead and support the implementation of a consistent research-informed pedagogical approach to all college programmes with significant summative assessment, drawing upon international best practice and regional and national policies and expectations. The role will implement strategies that build upon lessons learnt from the 'pandemic years' to take the best parts of a blended learning approach to support catch up learning, reinforcement and stretch and challenge of GCSE and A Level study programme learners. The role will also ensure consistency in the implementation of end-to-end transition management through the student journey from first point of contact to progression within all GCSE and A Level study programme subject areas.

The Assistant Dean of Academic Studies will be a supportive member of the Wider Leadership Team which drives a culture of high performance and aspiration across all areas of the College. The post-holder will, from time to time, deputise for the Dean of Academic Studies, and directly work with and support the Deputy Head of School for English and Deputy Head of School for Maths.
