Geotechnical Engineer- Edinburgh

Salary- Competitive

A brilliant opportunity has arisen for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established company based in Edinburgh to work in their specialist Geotechnical team. The company's Geotechnical sector has a track record of working on exciting high value projects. The role will be for an individual that demonstrates a strong analytical background and a fundamental understanding of Geotechnical design. The company will provide the successful candidate with state-of-the-art training and support to help progress their own development.

Key skills and experience needed:
  • Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology, Earth Sciences, or in the relevant subject area
  • Proven experience of Site Investigation (Phase 1 and Phase 2)
  • Knowledge of Site Health and Safety requirements and regulations
  • Contaminated Land Experience (Desirable)
  • Excellent communication and teamworking skills
  • Full and clean UK driving licence

Typical Duties in the role:
  • Manage high value projects and support the day to day site-based ground investigation contracts
  • Consult geological maps and aerial photographs to advise on site selection
  • Engage with project Stakeholders and offer updates of progress and developments
  • Assist in preparation of Health and Safety documentation before and during any site works
  • Identify geotechnical hazards and risks and develop innovative solutions to these issues
  • Complete high-quality technical reports which display a detailed risk assessment and the key findings from these
  • Log soil and rock in accordance with current UK standards
