Able Bridge Recruitment are currently working with a retail business in the recruitment of a purchase ledger clerk (on a temporary to permanent basis), in the Falkirk/Grangemouth area. The vacancy has arisen due to the organisation having re-organised the way they operate. Reporting to the head of finance and working alongside 3 other accounts staff, the role will be responsible for the maintenance of the accounts payable area of the department.
This is a relatively low volume purchase ledger, however there are some complexities around the function. One of our clients biggest suppliers on the ledger, is also a their biggest on the sales ledger. As such, our client effectively cross net the sales versus the purchases. This complicates the function as when invoices are missed and not processed it can cause complications in audits and in general accounting terms.
We are seeking an individual who has specific accounts payable experience and someone who can look at improving systems within the purchase ledger and general accounting function.
Candidates do not need to have any formal qualifications, as experience is considerably more advantageous. We would welcome applications from candidates who have specifically worked within (recently), a purchase ledger capacity. There will be additional requirements from a cashiering prospective, however this will only be a small part of the role, however previous cashiering experience would be advantageous.
