Maintenance Engineer required on a permanent basis to join an industry leading manufacturing business.

You will be responsible for the effective performance of all process systems across the Site. You will also provide technical expertise and support with regard to pipe work rationalisation and steel fabrication.
Ensure all engineering tasks are carried out and recorded on time and in a safe manner
Look after all COMAH related equipment, Pipework, Valves, Tanks, Bunds, Trace heating, Lagging and Level controls
Assist in the servicing and inspection of the equipment associated with COMAH to ensure legal compliance is maintained at all times
Assist in the management of contractors in absence of departmental manager
Action on T-cards to ensure work is carried out in accordance with planned activity.
Effective communication with key stakeholders to ensure full awareness of plan activity.
Ensure systems are left in a fully functioning state on handover.
Properly record all parts used for maintenance and repair, booking out against department/assets.
Interface with the maintenance planner and stores personnel for the planning & provision of spares, materials and equipment.
To identify and carry out Continuous Improvement (CI) activities in conjunction with key stakeholders, and create T-Cards to cover these.
Design and fabricate steel structures and pipe work installation across the site using specialist welding and associated engineering skills.
To take the Site lead in managing and maintaining welding equipment/standards/risks assessments including abrasive wheels.
To perform preventative maintenance schedules and tasks including lubrication, overhaul of spare modules, and planned downtime activity (in association with the maintenance team), using T-Card (or other) system to record actions and to generate follow-up works as needed.
Self-training to maintain skill and knowledge base, sharing knowledge with colleagues.
Carry out all required repairs and or diagnostics in blending, covering the Bran and Luebbe system, the Promtek system and all pumps, valves, vessels and pipe work etc.
Ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained and improved.
To provide assistance in the development of the engineering apprentices.
Active involvement/ownership in new product projects and capital projects.
Can understand and interpret drawings.
To have and utilise basic electrical skills.Experience required:
Ideally proven experience in a Chemical Processing industry. Working on equipment such as Batch Mixing and Continuous Process mixing (such as Bran & Luebbe systems)
Bulk tank storage and level control systems,
Recipe Management Systems
Flowmeters and Automated valve routing systems.
Mixers (such as Pentax, Sheer Mixers and agitators),
Trace heating systems,
Pumps (such as Mono, CDR, Tapflo, Rotary lobe).
Welding and Pipework fabrication Skills
Have the ability to work unsupervised.
Team player - Enjoys and is comfortable working in cooperation with other colleagues/key stakeholders.
Sense of urgency - Does not tolerate delays in resolving issues.
Sets high standards on Safety or Quality.
Commitment to self-development - Is not limited by previous experience and engages actively in improvement activities.
