Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is experience working with children or young adults.
Vision for Education are looking to recruit 4 learning support assistants to support one of our residential schools in Thornbury. The role would be to start from September. There are a number of roles available ranging from long-term to day to day, full-time and part-time.
The school believes in a vision of holistic education, care and therapy whilst being committed to strong academic progress. Offering an incredible range of different activities in their adapted curriculum, this role would suit someone interested in supporting students inside the classroom and also with practical activities and outdoor pursuits. You will be working with students with complex and severe learning difficulties, who may also display some challenging behaviour.
To be considered for the Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Have experience supporting children or young adults with behaviour challenges
Be resilient, proactive, and engaging
Be able to work 8:30 to 4:30 during term time (part time options available)
Have a Team Teach certificate (or equivalent) or be willing to attend a 2-day training course which we can provide
